Alright, I figured out my problem why my audio files wouldn't play. The program that ripped the audio file from NPR ripped it to an m4a file which is not AE compatible. I used Xilisoft to change that to an MP3

fyi... AE does not like mp3 on render outs... they sound bad and tend to mess up.
AE will use the what you had. also will use AAC (itunes conversion)
